कभी परसा विधानसभा क्षेत्र से सूबे के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री दारोगा प्रसाद राय चुनावी अखाड़े में दांव आजमाते थे। उन दिनों भी यह सीट वीआईपी थी। उनके बेटे चंद्रिका राय लालू के समधी बनने से पहले उनकी पार्टी में कद्दावर माने जाते थे। फिर हालात बदले और अपनी बेटी की लालू के बेटे से शादी रचाई तो समधी बने पर बात फिर ऐसी बिगड़ी कि अब सियासत में भी उनकी खिलाफत करेंगे। चर्चा है कि अब वे जदयू का दामन थामने वाले हैं। लालू प्रसाद के बड़े पुत्र तेजप्रताप यादव की शादी चंद्रिका राय की पुत्री ऐश्वर्या राय से मई 1918 में हुई। पांच माह बाद नवंबर में तेजप्रताप ने ऐश्वर्या से तलाक लेने की अर्जी कोर्ट में डाल दी। बीच के घटनाक्रम में ऐश्वर्या ने भी प्रताड़ना का केस दायर किया। अंतत: पिछले वर्ष के 16 दिसंबर को ऐश्वर्या राबड़ी देवी के आवास से मायके आ गयी। इस वाकये के बाद चंद्रिका राय की लालू प्रसाद से ही नहीं राजद से भी दूरी बढ़ गयी। वे फिलहाल हैं तो परसा के राजद विधायक, लेकिन पार्टी की हर गतिविधि से दूर हैं। उनके सियासी प्रतिद्वंद्वी छोटेलाल राय ने जदयू से नाता तोड़ हाल ही में राजद की सदस्यता ग्रहण कर ली है। चंद्रिका राय के बड़ी भाई विधानचंद राय की पुत्री डॉ. करिश्मा राय ने भी राजद की सदस्यता ग्रहण की है। पहले विधायक बने थे दारोगा प्रसाद राय, नारायणी नदी के कछार पर बसा परसा विधानसभा क्षेत्र यदुवंशियों का सियासी किला है। 1951 में इस विधानसभा क्षेत्र का गठन हुआ और पहले विधायक दारोगा प्रसाद राय चुने गये। दारोगा बाबू यहां से 7 बार जीते थे। जेपी आंदोलन की लहर वाले1977 के चुनाव में उन्हें हराकर यदुवंशी समाज के रामनंद प्रसाद यादव ही विधायक बने। दारोगा बाबू के निधन के बाद 1981 के उपचुनाव में उनकी पत्नी प्रभावती देवी विधायक चुनी गयी। फिर उनके द्वितीय पुत्र चंद्रिका राय ने यहां का सियासी किला संभाला। प्रारंभ में पिता की तरह कांग्रेस की टिकट पर 1985 में विधायक बने, लेकिन 1990 में वे लालू प्रसाद के जनता दल के साथ हो लिए। 2005 व 2010 के चुनाव में चंद्रिका राय को जदयू के छोटेलाल राय ने हरा दिया पर 2015 में चंद्रिका राय फिर जीत गए। 30 पंचायत व 22 शहरी वार्ड का विधानसभा क्षेत्र परसा सूबे का पुराना विधानसभा क्षेत्र है। परिसीमन के बाद इसका भूगोल कुछ बदल गया है। पहले पूरे परसा और मकेर तथा दरियापुर प्रखंड के भाग इसमें समाहित थे, लेकिन अब दरियापुर की सभी 22 पंचायतें और परसा की 14 पंचायतों में से आठ इस विधानसभा क्षेत्र में हैं। साथ ही परसा नगर पंचायत क्षेत्र भी इसका भाग है। इस तरह अब परसा विधानसभा क्षेत्र में परसा और दरियापुर की 30 पंचायत और परसा नगर पंचायत के 22 वार्ड समाहित हैं। ताल ठोकने की अकुलाहट, परसा विधानसभा क्षेत्र वीआईपी सीट बन गयी है। सत्ताधारी एनडीए सहित अन्य दलों के कई कद्दावरों में ताल ठोकने की अकुलाहट है। जदयू के सिम्बल के दावेदारों में वर्तमान आरजेडी विधायक चंद्रिका राय के अलावे अमनौर के पूर्व विधायक कृष्ण कुमार्र ंसह मंटू की पत्नी सविता देवी भी हैं। बीजेपी नेता व सांसद राजीव प्रताप रूडी के खास माने जाने वाले उनके प्रतिनिधि राकेर्श ंसह भी जमीन तैयार कर रहे हैं। सांसद रूडी का कद बड़ा है। राकेश व मंटू दोनों उनके खास माने जाते हैं। इनके अतिरिक्त कांग्रेस, भारतीय सब लोग पार्टी, सीपीएम आदि भी जनता के बीच उपस्थिति दर्ज करा दावेदारी पेश कर रही हैं।

महिला: 1,21,982
2015 का विधानसभा चुनाव
चंद्रिका राय (राजद) 77,211- 55.9% वोट
छोटे लाल राय (लोजपा) 34,876- 25.91% वोट
विधानसभा क्षेत्र में दो प्रखंड व एक नगर पंचायत क्षेत्र
रेल चक्का फैक्ट्री व हरदिया चंवर है पहचान- यह क्षेत्र वैसे तो कृषि आधारित है, पर दरियापुर के बेला रेलचक्का कारखाना ने इसे औद्यौगिक नक्शे पर ला दिया है। फैक्ट्री हरदियां चंवर में अवस्थित है। कहते हैं कि यह चंवर 17 कोस में है, पर जलजमाव अभिशाप है। कृषि विशेषज्ञों की मानें तो जलनिकासी की व्यवस्था हो जाए यहां रबी की अच्छी फसल हो।(UNA)
