गुवाहाटी, असम में सत्तारूढ़ गठबंधन के सहयोगी असम गण परिषद ने एक स्थानीय अदालत का स्थगन आदेश प्राप्त नहीं होने का हवाला देते हुए बृहस्पतिवार को अपनी आम सभा की बैठक की। एक जिला और सत्र अदालत ने बुधवार को अगप को अपनी निर्धारित बैठक आयोजित नहीं करने का आदेश दिया था क्योंकि इसने पार्टी के संविधान और कोविड-19 दिशानिर्देशों का उल्लंघन किया। क्षेत्रीय पार्टी की आम सभा में अतुल बोरा को निर्विरोध फिर से अध्यक्ष निर्वाचित किया गया। पार्टी के ‘चुनाव अधिकारी’ फनी भूषण चौधरी ने सभा में घोषणा की। वह राज्य के खाद्य, नागरिक आपूर्ति और उपभोक्ता मामलों के मंत्री भी हैं। बोरा ने कहा कि जल संसाधन मंत्री केशव महंत पार्टी के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष बने रहेंगे। बैठक की शुरुआत से पहले, पार्टी के नेताओं ने एजेंडे के बारे में कोई टिप्पणी नहीं की। लेकिन सूत्रों ने कहा था कि नए अध्यक्ष के चुनाव का मुद्दा सामने आ सकता है। बैठक का कोई अन्य एजेंडा नहीं था और पूरे दिन की कार्यवाही तीन घंटे के भीतर समाप्त हो गई। पार्टी के कार्यकर्ता दो खेमों में बंटे हुए हैं। एक धड़ा पूर्व मुख्य मंत्री प्रफुल्ल कुमार महंत के साथ है जबकि दूसरा धड़ा बोरा के साथ है। पार्टी की कार्यकारी समिति ने बुधवार शाम को बैठक की थी और अपने नए अध्यक्ष के चुनाव सहित कई मुद्दों पर चर्चा की थी। पार्टी विधायक सत्यब्रत कलिता ने बैठक से पहले संवाददाताओं से कहा, ‘‘हमें अभी तक अदालत का कोई आदेश नहीं मिला है। हमने आज के समाचार पत्रों में इसके बारे में पढ़ा है। लेकिन हम केवल मीडिया रिपोर्टों के आधार पर काम नहीं कर सकते।’’ उन्होंने कहा कि बैठक बुलाते समय पार्टी संविधान का सख्ती से पालन किया गया है और कोविड-19 संबंधी मानदंड लागू किए जाएंगे। बाद में, पार्टी महासचिव कमलाकांत कलिता ने कहा, “हमें दोपहर 12.45 बजे आदेश मिला, जबकि हमारा सत्र सुबह 11.45 बजे समाप्त हो गया। हमने वरिष्ठ वकील बिजन महाजन से आदेश के कानूनी पहलू पर गौर करने का अनुरोध किया है।” राज्य में भाजपा नीत सरकार में मंत्री बोरा ने कहा, “आम सम्मेलन बुलाना हमारा संवैधानिक दायित्व है। हम आने वाले दिनों में पार्टी को मजबूत बनाने के लिए कुछ निर्णय ले रहे हैं।” कामरूप जिला और सत्र अदालत ने बुधवार को पार्टी को सुनवाई की अगली तारीख तक यथास्थिति बनाए रखने के लिए कहा था। इस मामले में अगली सुनवाई 19 नवंबर को होनी है।
