देश में आज मकर संक्रांति, बिहू, उत्तरायणी पर्व, घुघुतिया और पोंगल मनाया जा रहा है। दक्षिण भारतीय राज्यों खासकर तमिलनाडु में पोंगल सबसे खास त्योहार होता है। चार दिन तक मनाए जाने वाले इस त्योहार के पर्वों की शुरुआत आज से हो रही है। इस त्योहार में शामिल होने और तमिल कल्चर को देखने के लिए कांग्रेस के पूर्व अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी तमिलनाडु दौरा पर हैं।
अगले कुछ महीनों में राज्य में विधानसभा चुनाव होने वाले हैं। इसको ध्यान में रखते हुए राहुल के अलावा कई राजनेता इस समय तमिलनाडु में हैं। राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ (RSS) के प्रमुख मोहन भागवत पहले से चेन्नई में हैं। वह दो दिवसीय दौरे पर चेन्नई गए हैं। आज सुबह उन्होंने पोन्नियमानेडु स्थित श्री कादुंबड़ी चिन्नामन मंदिर में पोंगल प्रार्थना की। उनके अलावा भारतीय जनता पार्टी (BJP) के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष जेपी नड्डा भी आज तमिलनाडु के दौरे पर हैं। वे चेन्नई में नम्मा ओरू पोंगल कार्यक्रम में शिरकत करेंगे।

राहुल ने आज मदुरै में जल्लीकट्टू कार्यक्रम में हिस्सा लिया। राहुल गांधी ने कहा कि तमिल कल्चर को देखना काफी प्यारा अनुभव था। मुझे खुशी है कि जल्लीकट्टू व्यवस्थित और सुरक्षित तरीके से आयोजित किया जा रहा है, जिसमें सभी सुरक्षित हैं और सभी का ध्यान रखा जा रहा है। पोंगल के मौके पर आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में राहुल गांधी के साथ द्रमुक की युवा इकाई के सचिव उदयनिधि स्टालिन, कांग्रेस के संगठन महासचिव केसी वेणुगोपाल, प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी के अध्यक्ष केएस अलागिरी और पुडुचेरी के मुख्यमंत्री वी नारायणसामी भी मौजूद थे।
बता दें इस साल अप्रैल-मई में होने वाले तमिलनाडु विधानसभा चुनाव में द्रमुक और कांग्रेस के बीच गठबंधन की संभावना है। हाल ही में राहुल गांधी निजी दौरे पर विदेश गए थे और वह पिछले दिनों लौटे हैं। विदेश से लौटने के बाद वह यहां पहली बार किसी सार्वजनिक कार्यक्रम में शामिल हुए। वहीं बीजेपी भी इस चुनाव में पूरी मजबूती से ताल ठोकना चाहती है ताकि वह राज्य की सत्ता पर काबिज हो सके।
फिलहाल बीजेपी ने चुनाव में अपनी राजनैतिक साझेदारी के बारे में अभी कोई ऐलान नहीं किया है. 2019 में हुए लोकसभा चुनाव में बीजेपी ने AIADMK के साथ गठबंधन किया था।
