पंजाब में मुख्यमंत्री अमरिंदर सिंह ही ‘कैप्टन’ रहेंगे। नवजोत सिंह सिद्धू और कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह के बीच उपजे विवाद को खत्म करने के लिए जो 3 सदस्यीय कमेटी बनाई गई थी उस कमेटी ने सोनिया गांधी को अपनी रिपोर्ट सौंप दी है। यहां बता दें कि इस कमेटी में मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे, हरीश रावत और जयप्रकाश अग्रवाल शामिल थे। गुरुवार को इस कमेटी ने अपनी रिपोर्ट पार्टी आलाकमान को सौंप दी है। कई मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स में यह कहा जा रहा है कि ज्यादातर विधायकों ने मुख्यमंत्री कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह के नेतृत्व पर विश्वास जताया है। जिसके बाद यह तय हो गया है कि अमरिंदर सिंह पंजाब कांग्रेस का चेहरा फिलहाल बने रहेंगे।
यह भी कहा जा रहा है कि इस कमेटी ने अपनी रिपोर्ट में यह भी कहा है कि जांच-पड़ताल के दौरान कैप्टन के खिलाफ फिलहाल किसी गुटबाजी की बात सामने नहीं आई है और नवजोत सिंह सिद्धू को लेकर विधायकों का कोई ग्रुप भी एकजुट नहीं हुआ है। इस कमेटी ने पंजाब कांग्रेस में खाली पदों को भरने की सिफारिश भी की है। पंजाब में अगले साल ही विधानसभा चुनाव होने वाले हैं। ऐसे में पार्टी कोई जोखिम मोल नहीं लेना चाहती है और पार्टी की कोशिश है कि किसी नेता को नाराज भी नहीं किया जाए।
खबर है कि नवजोत सिंह सिद्धू को लेकर तीन सदस्यी कमेटी ने कहा है कि उन्हें नजरअंदाज नहीं किया जा सकता है। संभावना है कि राज्य कांग्रेस में सिद्धू को कोई बड़ी जिम्मेदारी दी जा सकती है या फिर उन्हें डिप्टी सीएम का पद भी ऑफर किया जा सकता है। यह भी कहा जा रहा है सिद्धू को चुनाव कैंपेन कमेटी का अध्यक्ष भी बनाया जा सकता है।
बहरहाल पंजाब कांग्रेस की मौजूदा स्थिति को लेकर कई राजनीतिक विश्लेषकों का यह भी मानना है कि इस समय कैप्टन के अलावा अन्य कोई भी नेता इतना कद्दावर नहीं है, जो अपने दम पर अगले विधानसभा चुनाव में पार्टी को जीत दिला सके। ऐसे में पार्टी हाईकमान बिना ‘कैप्टन’ के 2022 के चुनाव में उतरने का जोखिम मोल नहीं लेना चाहेगी।
पार्टी के अंदरखाने से खबर यह थी कि नवजोत सिंह सिद्धू के अलावा प्रताप बाजपा, विधायक परगट सिंह और सुखजिंद सिंह रंधावा जैसे नेता भी कैप्टन के नेतृत्व से नाराज चल रहे हैं। लेकिन हाईकमान का मानना है कि अगर नाराज खेमे को आगे कर कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह को नजरअंदाज किया गया तो शायद अगले विधानसभा चुनाव में पार्टी को इसकी बड़ी कीमत चुकानी पड़ सकती है।
