भुवनेश्वर, ओडिशा पुलिस विभाग में 39 खिलाड़ियों को नियुक्ति मिली है। राज्य सरकार के निर्णय के मुताबिक, शनिवार को 39 खिलाड़ियों को पुलिस सेवा में शामिल किया गया है। इसमें से 30 महिला खिलाड़ी हैं, जबकि नौ पुरुष खिलाड़ी हैं। पिछले साल राज्य सरकार ने 96 खिलाड़ियों को शामिल किया गया था। राज्य के सफल खिलाड़ियों को मुख्यमंत्री नवीन पटनायक का यह बड़ा तोहफा है। इससे पहले राज्य में छह चरण में 96 खिलाड़ियों को पुलिस विभाग में नियुक्ति मिल चुकी है। मुख्यमंत्री ने नवनियुक्त पुलिस कर्मचारियों की वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के जरिए नियुक्ति व बधाई दी है। राज्य सरकार खेल व खिलाड़ियों के विकास के लिए एक हजार करोड़ रुपये खर्च करने का निर्णय लिया है। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि ओडिशा बहुत जल्द देश का खेल हाउस बनने वाला है।
खिलाड़ियों की नियुक्ति करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि आप अब अपने परिवार का दायित्व संभाल सकते हैं।मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि आपके परिवार वाले भी अब आपको लेकर गर्व महसूस करेंगे। इसके साथ ही युवा वर्ग को खेलकूद में अधिक से अधिक शामिल होने के लिए मुख्यमंत्री ने आह्वान किया है। 2018 विश्वकप हॉकी, 2017 एशियन एथलेटिक चैंपियनशिप का आयोजन ओडिशा के लिए वरदान साबित हुआ है। 2023 में पुन: विश्वकप की आयोजन के लिए राउरकेला में विश्व का सबसे बड़ा हाकी स्टेडियम बनाया जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि जमीनी स्तर पर कोचिंग और स्कूलों में खेल शिक्षा राज्य भर में खेलों को विकसित करने के लिए एक प्रमुख फोकस क्षेत्र है।
उन्होंने कहा कि हमारे पैरा एथलीट भी अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर अच्छा प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं। प्रमोद भगत, अर्जुन अवार्डी, ने पैरालंपिक के लिए क्वालीफाई किया है और पदक के लिए एक प्रमुख प्रतियोगी हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि हम अपने पैरा एथलीटों को आर्थिक रूप से समर्थन देना जारी रखना चाहते हैं और उन्हें खेल के क्षेत्र में उत्कृष्टता के लिए नौकरी से संबंधित सहायता भी प्रदान करना चाहते हैं। इस अवसर पर डीजीपी अभय ने स्वागत भाषण दिया और प्रमुख सचिव खेल विशाल देव ने भी अपने विचार रखे। मुख्यमंत्री के सचिव (5टी) वीके पांडियन ने कार्यक्रम का संचालन किया। निदेशक गुप्तचर ललित दास ने धन्यवाद ज्ञापित किया। इस अवसर पर एसीएस होम संजीव चोपड़ा सहित अन्य वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधिकारी भी उपस्थित थे।
