बेंगलुरु, पुलिस ने अपहरण के एक मामले में 24 घंटे के भीतर लड़के को मुक्त करा लिया और छह अपहर्ताओं को गिरफ्तार किया। अपहर्ताओं ने लड़के को छोड़ने के लिए दो करोड़ रुपये की मांग की थी। बेंगलुरु के पुलिस आयुक्त कमल पंत ने कहा, ‘‘11 साल के लड़के को अगवा करने के मामले में 24 घंटे के भीतर छह लोगों की गिरफ्तारी के लिए मैं बेंगलुरु पूर्वी संभाग के अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों की सराहना करता हूं।’’ अतिरिक्त पुलिस आयुक्त (पूर्वी जोन) एस मुरुगन के मुताबिक आरोपियों की पहचान फहीम, मुजम्मिल, फैजान, मोहम्मद शाहिद, कलील और मोहम्मद जयान के तौर पर हुई । पुलिस ने बताया कि उनकी उम्र 20 से 30 साल के बीच है और सभी को नशे की लत है । मुरुगन ने बताया, ‘‘मोहम्मद शाहिद लूट के एक मामला का सामना कर रहा है । वे सभी लड़के के पड़ोसी हैं। उन्होंने कुछ दिनों तक बच्चे की गतिविधियों पर नजर रखी।’’ उन्होंने बताया कि अपहरण का मामला सामने आने के बाद पांच टीमें बनायी गयी । तुमकुरू में आरोपियों के होने का पता चला। पुलिस की टीम तुमकुरू पहुंची और 15 किलोमीटर तक आरोपियों का पीछा किया। भागने के दौरान आरोपियों की कार पलट गयी। पुलिस ने मौके से ही पांचों आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया और लड़के को मुक्त कराया। सरगना मोहम्मद जयान को श्यामपुर से गिरफ्तार किया गया। पुलिस उसे गिरफ्तार करने के लिए पहुंची तो उसने गोली चला दी । जवाबी कार्रवाई में उसे पैर में गोली लगी। एक अस्पताल में उसका इलाज कराया जा रहा है ।
