मुंबई से सटे मीरा- भायंदर में पानी की किल्लत से लोगों को अक्सर जूझना पड़ता है। बीते कुछ महीनों से यहां के निवासियों को पानी की भारी किल्लत का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। नागरिकों की इस समस्या को हल करने के लिए उद्योग मंत्री सुभाष देसाई ने कमर कस ली है। उन्होंने सोमवार को मंत्रिमंडल की बैठक बुलाकर मीरा-भायंदर के लिए अतिरिक्त पर पानी देने का फैसला किया है। सरकार के इस फैसले से पूरे शहर में पानी की किल्लत खत्म हो जाएगी।
मीरा-भायंदर को 135 एमएलडी पानी मिलेगा
बैठक में मीरा-भायंदर शहर के लिए एमआईडीसी से 135 एमएलडी पानी दीया जाना मंजूर किया गया है। आने वाले कुछ दिनों में अतिरिक्त पानी शहर को मिलना शुरू हो जाएगा। इसके अलावा 20 एमएलडी अतिरिक्त पानी देने पर भी चर्चा हुई। फिलहाल मीरा-भायंदर को एमआईडीसी से 100 एमएलडी पानी की ही आपूर्ति की जा रही थी। जनसंख्या ज्यादा होने और पानी की आपूर्ति कम होने से पानी की किल्लत हो रही थी।
विधायक प्रताप सरनाईक की मेहनत हुई सफल
मीरा भायंदर के निवासियों को पानी की किल्लत से निजात दिलाने के लिए शिवसेना के विधायक प्रताप सरनाईक लंबे समय से प्रयास कर रहे थे। सोमवार को उद्योग मंत्री के साथ ही बैठक में उन्होंने यह मुद्दा जोर-शोर से उठाया उसके बाद पानी की समस्या का यह मुद्दा अब लगभग खत्म हो गया है। सरनाईक ने 25 एमएलडी अतिरिक्त पानी की भी मांग मीरा भायंदर के लिए की है। फिलहाल सुभाष देसाई ने मंजूर किया हुआ 135 एमएलडी पानी देने का निर्देश एमआईडीसी को दे दिया है। बैठक के दौरान शिवसेना के सांसद राजन विचारे, विधायक गीता जैन, महापौर ज्योत्सना हसनाले कमिश्नर विजय राठौड़ और अन्य स्थानीय नेता और पदाधिकारी मौजूद थे।
मिल सकता है 20 एमएलडी पानी
मीरा भायंदर शहर को विधायक प्रताप सरनाईक द्वारा की गई मांग के मुताबिक 20 एमएलडी पानी अतिरिक्त भी दिया जा सकता है। अब तक एमआईडीसी की तरफ से नवी मुंबई महानगरपालिका को 35 एमएलडी पानी की आपूर्ति की जाती थी। फिलहाल नवी मुंबई मनपा ने यह बताया है कि उन्हें इस पानी की आवश्यकता नहीं है। ऐसे में 20 एमएलडी पानी मीरा भायंदर को दिया जाए, यह आदेश भी पारित किया गया है। इस प्रकार यदि कुल पानी की बात करें तो 135 एमएलडी पानी के अलावा 20 एमएलडी पानी शहर को और मिलेगा। इस प्रकार 155 एमएलडी पानी मिलने से शहर की पानी की किल्लत मिट जाएगी।(UNA)
