13 March 2006, ये वो दिन था जब अनिल अंबानी की टेलीकॉम कंपनी में बड़ा मर्जर हुआ था। इस दिन बोर्ड मीटिंग में तय हुआ कि रिलायंस इन्फोकॉम का रिलायंस कम्युनिकेशन वेंचर लिमिटेड में मर्जर होगा। इससे रिलायंस कम्युनिकेशन वेंचर लिमिटेड के शेयर प्राइस 67% बढ़ गए। इसका नतीजा ये हुआ कि इस दिन अनिल अंबानी की नेटवर्थ 45 हजार करोड़ रुपए हो गई थी। जबकि, उस दिन बड़े भाई मुकेश की नेटवर्थ 37 हजार 825 करोड़ रुपए थी। ये वो समय था जब नेटवर्थ के मामले में छोटा भाई, बड़े भाई से ऊपर आ गया था। जबकि, एक हफ्ते पहले ही फोर्ब्स की लिस्ट आई थी, जिसमें मुकेश अंबानी, अनिल से आगे थे। फोर्ब्स की लिस्ट के मुताबिक, मार्च 2006 में मुकेश की नेटवर्थ 8.5 अरब डॉलर और अनिल की नेटवर्थ 5.7 अरब डॉलर थी।
