भारत में फ्रांस के राजदूत इमैनुएल लेनैन (Emmanuel Lenain) ने शनिवार को अटाला मस्जिद, बड़ी मस्जिद, लाल दरवाजा, शाही पुल का दौरा किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने कहा कि ’’भारतीय इतिहास अद्भुत है, मैं यहां जौनपुर में आकर खुश हूं, मुझे लगता है कि यह एक सुंदर विरासत है। यहां की संस्कृति विविधता से भरी हुई है। फ्रांस के राजदूत इमैनुएल लेनैन ने जौनपुर में बड़ी मस्जिद का अवलोकन करने के बाद बताये कि मैं यहां आकर बेहद प्रसन्न हूं। भारतीय इतिहास अद्भूत है। मुझे लगता है कि यहां पर एक सुंदर विरासत की रक्षा की जाती है।

इस दौरान उन्होंने इमारतों पर की गई कलाकृतियों की अपने कैमरे से तस्वीरे ली और इमारतों पर की गई कलाकारी की प्रशंसा की और सरकारी स्कूलों के बच्चों, आम लोगो से भी मिले। शहर में प्राचीन इमरती की दुकान पर जाकर इमरती खाई और तारीफ की।
