मजदूर दिवस के अवसर पर समाजवादी मजदूर सभा के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष राम सिंह के नेतृत्व में प्रतिनिधिमण्डल ने अखिलेश यादव से मिलकर उन्हें ज्ञापन सौंपा और प्रतीक चिह्न भेंट किया।

ज्ञापन में कहा गया है कि हाल ही में मजदूरों के खिलाफ धारा 1921 के अंतर्गत विधानसभा में पारित कानून के अनुसार अब मजदूर का बकाया किसी मिल मालिक या फैक्ट्री मालिक द्वारा नहीं दिये जाने पर सजा का प्रावधान समाप्त कर दिया गया। जबकि पहले के कानून में यदि कोई मिल मालिक या फैक्ट्री मालिक मजदूर का बकाया नहीं देता था तो उसे छह महीने या तीन साल जेल का प्रावधान था। साथ ही पचास हजार रूपये की जुर्माना राशि भी थी। मौजूदा भाजपा सरकार में श्रम कानून में बदलाव करके आठ घंटे की ड्यूटी को 12 घंटे की ड्यूटी करने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है जबकि वेतन सिर्फ 8 घंटे का ही मिलेगा। प्रतिनिधिमण्डल ने बताया कि मजदूर दिवस के अवसर पर लखनऊ में समाजवादी मजदूर सभा द्वारा श्रमिकों के लिए खिचड़ी भोज व अंग वस्त्र वितरण किया गया है।

अखिलेश यादव ने श्रमिकों के हितों के लिए हर सम्भव सहयोग करने का भरोसा दिलाया। उन्होंने कहा कि समाजवादी पार्टी हमेशा मजदूर हितों के लिये समर्पित रहती है और उन्हें न्याय दिलाने के लिए संकल्पबद्ध है।

मजदूर सभा के प्रतिनिधिमण्डल में विनेश कुमार, अजय यादव प्रवीन कुमार, पंकज कुमार, नीलू यादव एवं राम भजन खंगार शामिल रहे।
